A distinctly spicy (piccante) Italian blue made using traditional techniques that can be traced back to the 8th century. The method is protected by DOP certificated, and the cheese is made in small batches by the Mauri family using a select mixture of curds made from morning and evening milk. Mature cheeses have a thick, dense, creamy texture. The salty acidity is perfect for those who prefer a stronger blue. Gorgonzola Piccante is the most authentic of the gorgonzola cheese types made in Italy, and uses traditional techniques that can be traced back to the 8th century. Protected by DOP certification, this cheese is only made in small quantities by the Mauri family using a select mixture of curds made from morning and evening milk. We deliver cheese using insulated boxes sent via express post. We can deliver to metro areas in NSW, VIC & QLD. We cannot deliver to rural areas where express post takes multiple days to arrive, or to WA, SA, NT or TAS. We dispatch cold orders Tuesday-Thursday only.
