This buttery soft traditional yeast cake is a sweet delight. Complete with snow sugar to dust over before serving to resemble the snowy peaks of the Italian Alps during Christmas. Unlike it's cousin the panettone, this 8 pointed star shaped bread does not contain fruit. 

I love to cut the cake into 2cm portions horiztonally and stack them up slightly rotated to create little 'Christmas Tree'.
